Severe Weather Awareness Week
Today is the Statewide Tornado Drill Day as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. Outdoor warning sirens will sound at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., and those who opt in will receive a Wireless Emergency Alert at 1:45 p.m. Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are short, urgent messages sent by government agencies to your mobile device during critical situations like severe weather, public safety threats, or missing persons. They are important to enable because they provide timely, location‑based warnings that can help you react quickly and stay safe. How to "opt in" to WEA:Android: Go to Settings, search for "Emergency Alerts", and toggle on the desired alerts.iPhone: Go to Settings > Notifications, scroll to the bottom, and toggle on Government Alerts.
