
Planning Commission
Overview
The Planning Commission's mission is to assist with long-range planning in the community and to foster high quality development. The Planning Commission is an advisory group to the City Council in Maple Plain. The Commission's duties are to prepare and periodically review the City's comprehensive plan, adopt and enforce official controls to implement the City's plans and to review and make recommendations on all development applications.
The Commission considers all City ordinance regulations in the decision-making process, as well as information provided at public hearings. The Commission makes its recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will consider the Planning Commission's recommendation, along with other relevant information, before making a final decision.
