City Council

Overview
The City Council consists of the mayor and four council members elected at large. They serve four-year, staggered terms. Local elections are held in November of even-numbered years. The Council sets city policy.
Maple Plain is a Statutory "Plan A" City, with a part-time Mayor and City Council empowered by law to legislate city-wide policy and a full-time City Administrator who serves as chief executive. All Council members serve at large to represent the entire community, so residents may contact any one of them to express concerns and opinions. Mayor and Council members are elected in November of even-numbered years for four-year staggered terms.
