Excavation & Grading Permit
A permit is required anytime 25 cubic yards or more of land (dirt) is altered.

Planning and Zoning
Planning and Zoning permits and licenses are need for the review and development applications for land subdivisions, new development, and redevelopment.
Sign/Fence Permit
A sign/fence permit is required for all signage (both permanent and temporary) and fencing. In addition to the sign/fence permit, a building permit is required for permanent signage and fences higher than 6 feet.
Right-of-Way Permit
A right-of-way permit is required to complete any work in the right-of-way.
Water & Sewer Permits
A permit is required for any work completed for outdoor water and sewer infrastructure. This includes adding new infrastructure, repair, disconnecting from the system, and reconnecting to the system.

Other Permits and Licenses
- Dog License (Dog Tags)
The City of Maple Plain issues dog tags solely for the purpose of assisting West Hennepin Public Safety when they find dogs. Tags are issued at City Hall for a $5 fee. There is no expiration on the tag and no vaccination documentation required.

Electrical Permits
