Highway 12 Reopened Following Gas Main Break

City of Maple Plain — August 20, 2026

The City of Maple Plain is providing an update regarding the gas main break that occurred earlier today near Highway 12 and Delano Avenue.

Highway 12 has been reopened to traffic. CenterPoint Energy crews are on site and have the situation under control.

The precautionary closure of Highway 12 allowed emergency responders and utility crews to safely assess the situation and secure the affected area. Motorists should continue to use caution while traveling through the area as utility crews may remain on site.

The City of Maple Plain would like to thank West Hennepin Public Safety, West Suburban Fire Department, CenterPoint Energy, and all other emergency crews and agencies that assisted with the response. We also thank our residents, businesses, and motorists for their patience and cooperation throughout the incident.

Additional information will be provided through official City communications if necessary.

Highway 12 is open, and normal traffic may resume.
