- Complete the rental license application
- Pay the application fee (see City Fee Schedule)
- Schedule an inspection with Metro West Inspection Services
- Correct any issues identified during inspection
- Receive your rental license approval
What to Expect
- The property will be inspected to ensure it meets safety standards
- Common inspection areas include:
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Electrical and plumbing systems
- Structural safety (stairs, railings, etc.)
- General property maintenance
Important Notes
- You cannot rent the property until the license is approved
- All corrections must be completed before approval
- Licenses are issued to the property owner, not the tenant
