Construction Update - Temporary Water Connection

As part of the City's ongoing downtown infrastructure improvements, contractors will begin connecting homes and businesses in the project area to a temporary above-ground water system on Friday, July 17. The temporary water system will allow crews to safely replace the existing water main while maintaining water service to affected properties.

Contractor crews from Kuechle Underground will visit each affected property between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to complete the connection. The process takes approximately 15 minutes and requires access inside the home or business to verify that the correct water valves are shut off. Residents should leave their outside water spigot in the open position once the temporary service is connected. Those with a water softener should place it in bypass mode while connected to the temporary system.

Because the temporary water line will be installed above ground, residents may notice warmer water than usual. This is expected and is not a cause for concern. While the temporary water lines are durable, they can occasionally be damaged by lawn equipment or vehicles. If a water line is damaged or you experience a loss of water service, please contact Dylan Zellmann, Bolton & Menk Construction Representative, at 651-421-4968, immediately.

Residents who will not be available during the scheduled connection window or who have questions about the project should contact the construction team to make alternate arrangements. The City appreciates everyone's patience and cooperation as these important water system improvements continue.
