Beginning June 2, 2026, contractors will start replacing the water main along Industrial Street. This work is an important part of the City's efforts to maintain reliable water infrastructure and support long-term service improvements throughout the community.
As part of the project, crews will be installing new gate valves and fire hydrants along the water main corridor. Gate valves allow portions of the water system to be isolated for maintenance or emergency repairs, while hydrants help ensure adequate fire protection and system operation. Contractors anticipate completing the installation of these components by the end of the week, weather permitting.
Following the installation of the water main, gate valves, and hydrants, the project will move into the testing phase. Beginning next week, crews will conduct pressure testing, disinfection, and water quality testing on the newly installed water main. These tests are required to verify that the new infrastructure meets state and industry standards before it is placed into service.
Residents may notice construction equipment, materials, and crews working in the area throughout the project. The City encourages motorists and pedestrians to use caution near construction zones and follow all posted traffic control signs.
The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents, businesses, and visitors as these important infrastructure improvements are completed. Additional project updates can be found HERE.
