As part of the 2026 Downtown Reconstruction Project, the City of Maple Plain and Bolton & Menk will be conducting a planned water shutdown, on Thursday July 23rd, to allow crews to replace the water main on Maple Avenue. This work is necessary to continue upgrading the City's water infrastructure and improve long-term system reliability.

What to Expect

Residents and businesses in the affected area will receive a door hanger notice with the specific date and estimated time of the water shutdown prior to the work taking place. While every effort will be made to minimize the disruption, the schedule may change depending on weather or field conditions.

Affected Area

The shutdown is expected to impact properties in the vicinity of Maple Avenue between Main Street East and Independence Street, where crews will install a new water main connection (wet tap) and a new fire hydrant and gate valve as part of the project.

After Water Service is Restored

Once your water service has been restored:

  • Run cold water from two or more faucets for several minutes, starting with an outdoor spigot or laundry tub if possible.
  • You may notice air in the water lines or temporary discoloration. This is normal after water main work and should clear after flushing your plumbing.
  • If discoloration or other issues continue after flushing, please contact the construction representative.

Weather Delays

If weather prevents the work from being completed as scheduled, the shutdown will occur on the following day during the same approximate time period.
