Construction activities will continue throughout the downtown project area during the week of August 17 as crews make progress on water main and storm sewer improvements.
Planned Work
- Water Main Work: Crews will continue water main work on Main Street between Marsh Avenue and Pioneer Avenue.
- Water Service Connections: Water service connection work is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 17. Properties affected by temporary water service interruptions will be notified as necessary.
- Storm Sewer Installation: Beginning Tuesday, August 18, crews are scheduled to begin storm sewer installation within the project area.
Looking Ahead
Toward the end of August, Xcel Energy will begin work to bury overhead electrical lines within the project area. As this work is completed, temporary electrical outages may occur. Additional information, including outage timing and affected areas, will be shared as it becomes available.
What to Expect
Residents, businesses, and motorists should expect construction activity, temporary access restrictions, and changing traffic patterns as work progresses.
Construction schedules may change due to weather, field conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone, follow all posted signs, and allow extra travel time.
The City of Maple Plain appreciates the community's continued patience and cooperation as we make these important infrastructure improvements.
Library Access
As construction continues in the downtown project area, access to the Maple Plain Library is temporarily limited.
The only access to the library is by traveling south on Budd Avenue from Highway 12. There is no access to the library from the Main Street East and Budd Avenue intersection (traveling north on Budd Avenue).
Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time when visiting the library.
