There are a number of recreational and special event opportunities available to Maple Plain residents both offered by the City and other community organizations
City Events
The City of Maple Plain holds special events throughout the summer. Events include the Police vs. Fire Softball Game and Movies in the Park. Visit the Community Events Calendar or our Facebook Page to stay up-to-date on upcoming City Events.
Step To It Challenge - Every year May 1 - 28
Maple Plain is a partnering city of the Step To It Challenge. This a fun way to get active and win prizes including Twins tickets and t-shirts. For more information visit www.steptoit.org.
Community Events
Many organizations in Maple Plain host events open to the community throughout the year. The City adds events to the Community Events Calendar and organizations can also request to add them. Some yearly events to look out for are:
- Maple Plain Community Church Egg Hunt - Saturday before Easter at Veterans Memorial Park
- Orono Rotary's Party in the Park- First Saturday in June
- Maple Plain Museum Ice Cream Social - Summer
- Maple Plain Fire Department Open House - a Saturday in October
- Truck and Treat sponsored by the West Hennepin Chamber of Commerce - Saturday before Halloween
- View Santa hosted by West Hennepin Public Safety - First Saturday in December
Community Education
The Community Education Department of the Orono School District offers are variety of recreational programs for all ages including early learning, youth, and adult! Check out their website.
