Flags for Heroes

On May 26th, the Orono Rotary proudly displayed American flags at Veterans Memorial Park in honor of Memorial Day. The flags waved high as a powerful symbol of respect for the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. This moving tribute was a reminder of the sacrifices made by military service members to protect our freedoms and keep our nation safe.
The City of Maple Plain joins in expressing deep gratitude and respect for all who have worn the uniform, especially those who have served our country. Memorial Day is more than just a holiday—it is a day to pause, reflect, and remember the true cost of freedom. It is a time to honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes, and to support the families they left behind.
As we gathered in the park surrounded by flags, it was clear that their memory lives on in the hearts of our community. The City of Maple Plain is proud to support this tradition and encourages everyone to carry the spirit of Memorial Day forward, not just on this day, but throughout the year. Let us never forget their service and sacrifice.
