West Hennepin Public Safety Recognition Ceremony Highlights Service and New Officers

On February 2nd, the City of Maple Plain and the City of Independence proudly welcomed residents to the West Hennepin Public Safety Recognition Ceremony, a special evening celebrating the dedication, service, and professionalism of West Hennepin Public Safety staff. The event also marked an exciting milestone as the department formally welcomed new officers to the West Hennepin Public Safety team.  

The recognition ceremony featured the formal Oath of Office for Officers Micah Vorderbruggen, Dan Lueth, and Avery Freeman, officially welcoming them to the West Hennepin Public Safety team, along with the formal Oath of Office for Sergeant Shawn Ebeling. The program also included recognition of years of service honoring dedicated staff members, a presentation of the West Hennepin Public Safety 2025 Year in Review, and special remarks from department leadership and the Police Commission, highlighting the department’s continued commitment to excellence and public service.  

The evening concluded with cake and refreshments, providing an opportunity for attendees to congratulate the newly sworn officers and celebrate the continued commitment of West Hennepin Public Safety to serving the community.
