On February 23, the Maple Plain City Council approved plans for a new four-story, 95-unit apartment building in the downtown area. The project is designed to complement the character and small-town feel of downtown Maple Plain while adding new housing opportunities for residents. The building will include two levels of structured indoor parking, with spaces located at the ground level and an additional level below ground. This design helps reduce the need for large surface parking areas while providing convenient parking access for residents.
The development will also include residential amenities and improvements to the surrounding streetscape to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment along Main Street. Planned streetscape elements will enhance walkability and strengthen the overall downtown experience. In addition, a fourth-floor Sky Lounge on the southeast corner of the building will provide residents with a shared gathering space and views overlooking Main Street. Construction in the downtown area is expected to begin this spring.
