🚫 Let’s Talk About Roadside Dumping & “Free” Items 🚫

We’ve noticed more and more items being left along Maple Plain’s roadsides—furniture, appliances, and other “Free” items that never get picked up. While the intention might be good, when these items sit out too long, they become public nuisances and code violations.

🛑 According to City Code Sec. 6-28, dumping garbage or leaving items in public view without proper disposal is a nuisance.

🧹 City Code Sec. 6-31 gives our enforcement officers the authority to issue compliance orders—and if not addressed, violators can face misdemeanor charges under Sec. 6-32.

📍 Even if you didn’t put it there—if it’s in the right-of-way in front of your property, it’s your responsibility to keep it clean. That includes removing dumped items, trash, or debris.
